Welcome and 10th Anniversary Celebrations

It’s been an exciting and busy time at Anthesis HQ as we celebrate our tenth anniversary of business.  To mark the achievement you’ll notice we’ve launched a new website, we hope you like it.

As Channel and Services partner to both IFS and Infor we remain focussed on ‘Building Scale to Release the Value of Enterprise Applications’, delivering successful projects and services to our clients

Since our inception in 2009 we’ve seen permanent employees reach 22 in the UK, and 25 in Sri Lanka, combined with our associate delivery consultants Anthesis makes up a team of over 140 people as we head into our second decade.  We’ve just completed expansion into larger offices in both Cheshire and Colombo to accommodate the growth.  Services have expanded to include developing our own ancillary software and offering Managed Services to those looking for dedicated support for their technology investment.

From just 600 man days of consultancy delivered to a handful of clients in our first 12 months we’ve grown to over 12,000 days in our last financial year.  On a daily basis we now support over 23 customers from our Global support centre which is open 24/7.  Turnover has reached £10million and we remain proud of our privately owned status.

It’s been an incredibly humbling journey to have worked so closely with Infor and IFS over the years and we feel lucky to have worked with such great customers and business partners who value what we do.  We continue to learn, develop and invest in our people.  Looking forward we are aiming to be the leading partner sales force for IFS and Infor, whilst reinforcing our reputation as a cost-competitive, highly skilled, nimble choice for your ERP journey.

Anthesis consultancy team gains new expertise

We’d like to introduce you to the latest member of the Anthesis consulting team, Rob McMahon.

Rob has been a supply chain consultant for 20 years, mainly in the Manufacturing, Fashion and Food & Beverage sectors. He has worked in manufacturing plants making everything from extruded plastics to animal feed and sourdough bread & has also worked extensively in B2B distribution.

Upgrades, new implementations, roll outs, re-engineering, lead consultancy, Rob has done it all. Working for global companies like Scott Bader and Nutreco has allowed Rob to implement M3 in countries as far afield as Russia, South Africa and Mexico, though most of his work has been in Western Europe.

He is originally from Scotland, but now lives on the south coast of the UK in Southampton with his wife, “two wee girls” and a dog. In his spare time Rob likes to draw and also attend gigs by appallingly loud obscure bands.

His ambition is to further develop his expanding IFS knowledge base – with the cloud based Apps10 but also legacy versions of IFS – and to help Anthesis grow its reputation as one of the leading IFS consultancies in Europe. Working closely with Anthesis customers who are considering, implementing or improving their IFS system is something that Robert is looking forward to.

In his spare time, he likes to keep fit going to the gym and likes to cycle occasionally. He also enjoys playing and learning about poker and entering live tournaments. When asked why, he says “The game is a mix of strategy, calculating odds, and reading your opponents. The thrill aspect doesn’t hurt either, and there’s always room for improvement.” Recently Robert has won a couple of tournaments in Madrid.

Anthesis partners with Vince to resell and implement applications for Infor M3

We are pleased to announce that Anthesis has signed a partnership agreement with Norwegian M3 ERP specialists Vince who develop applications designed to enhance the power of the ERP systems.

This collaborative partnership allows Anthesis to resell and implement the three Vince products, VXL, VBU and VSE.

VXL allows users to manage their Infor M3 data directly in Microsoft Excel via APIs, making data manipulation incredibly straight forward.

VBU – or Vince Butler – provides monitoring of business-critical systems and content enabling rapid problem-identification and resolution, increasing efficiency and minimizing downtime.

VSE offers a comprehensive overview of security within Infor M3, including permissions across Users, Roles and Functions keeping M3 safe and compliant with audit requirements.

Peter Williamson, Operations Director at Anthesis, comments “We were immediately impressed with the quality and simplicity of the products Vince has developed which will add real value to our clients’ Infor M3 systems. Anthesis Consultants are attending Infor M3 TechED. 4-6 December, Stockholm

Infor M3 TechEd is a 2.5–day technical education and training conference focused on helping Infor customers and partners get the most out of their enterprise software suite. It is a unique opportunity to gather with like-minded colleagues, hear the latest strategy updates and product announcements, experience hands-on training, and interact with a broad range of product experts.

The Infor TechEd conference really focuses on the latest and next generation of Infor M3 functionality, to ensure Infor partners are at the forefront of the latest M3 technology. Check out helsinginyhtiopalvelu for more info

Continuous education is vital to keep our consultants knowledge up to date with the latest developments in technology and ensures Anthesis’s customers get the best from their ERP investments.

Infor Cloud Suites are designed to be industry specific but since no two companies are alike, some customers require process variants that are not supported by standard software. Therefore M3 Cloud Suites must be flexible which means being open to personalisation and extensible. In a multi-tenet Cloud world, this is mandatory since tenants served from a shared cloud infrastructure must not impact on each other.

At Anthesis, we believe in investing in people which is why we are delighted that our consultants are taking maximum advantage from the great education at M3 TechEd in Stockholm this week, learning about the possibilities of personalisation, business process tailoring and extensibility.

Partnering with Infor Education & Product Management face-to-face is the best training a consultant can get. There is no substitute for networking and ask-the-expert to develop real knowledge and skills to benefit our customers.

Meet Callum Wright – Junior Infor Consultant – Anthesis

Callum Wright has joined Anthesis in November 2018 as a Junior Infor Consultant.

Whilst he arrives with some ERP experience, Callum is, in his own words still “learning the ropes” so we are delighted to give him the opportunity to develop and grow under the guidance of our highly experienced consultancy team. Callum will be mentored and trained by some of the most knowledgeable Infor consultants around, taking any necessary qualifications, enhancing his career path and confidence. Implementation is his real passion, as you can see below.

Whilst Anthesis are proud of our highly experienced team of consultants, we also recognise that we want to invest in new people, the next generation of consultants coming through the ranks.

Chares Noden, Director, comments “Young blood like Callum is the future for Anthesis, and give us, and our customers, longevity and security with our forward planning. This is the start of our apprenticeship scheme, with more people to follow, where the next generation learn from our experienced team”.

Let’s get to know Callum a little better – inside and outside of work.

Callum is 23 and graduated in Chemistry at the University of Birmingham in 2016. At this point we was heavily involved in Triathlons and Surfing, and supplemented his University funds by working as a life guard.

It was after graduating that his career moved towards IT and ERP.

His first “proper” job was as an online services lead for a furniture business – building websites, HTML adverts and all things online.

Following that he worked at an IT (EDI) company called TrueCommerce, as a service desk consultant – providing support to clients and handling connections between clients and their end users.

It was at this stage that Callum realised he wanted to go down the implementation route. Earlier this year, he became an Implementation Consultant and was managing 5 projects at any one time, often 6 figure contracts. Much of this was heavily supply chain and ERP focused – orders, invoices, shipments and so forth.

A geographic relocation to the North West and rave reviews meant that Anthesis made Callum an offer of employment, and that brings us up to date. In Callum’s words “I’ve always connected to ERP systems in previous roles but I have never done the actual configuration and that is what really interests me, so now I’m a Junior M3 Consultant at Anthesis, eager to learn a whole lot more.”

Outside of work, Callum is still heavily involved in the surfing word and surfs/competes around the UK and Europe when possible. He also works on his 1981 VW campervan in his spare time – what other vehicle for a surfer?!

Anthesis look forward to working with Callum and introducing him to our clients.
